“Practical Tools for Menu Planning” November Topic for MGH SHELTON DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP Meeting

“Practical Tools for Menu Planning”will be the topic of the October Mason General Hospital Shelton Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m.
 
Proper meal planning is essential to living well with diabetes, and those with the condition can greatly increase their health and lifestyle by learning some “Practical Tools for Menu Planning,” which will be the topic of the next Mason General Hospital Shelton Diabetes Support Group meeting to be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m.  Due to ongoing Hospital construction, the sessions are still being held in the new PUD Conference Room at 2621 E John’s Prairie Road, located near Mason General, 2.2 miles from N 13th Street.  Entrance and parking is on the left side of the building.
 
Sarah Fulkerson, registered dietitian, and certified diabetes educator for MGH&FC, will be on hand to share a variety of practical tools to assist in menu planning and diet management for those with diabetes, and their family support members.  Time will also be set aside for questions and answers.
 
The Shelton Diabetes Support Group, affiliated with the American Diabetes Association, meets at the Hospital every third Thursday of the month from September to June. Various diabetes-related topics are covered, and the class is free and open to people with type 1 and 2 diabetes, their friends, and family.

Please note that due to Hospital construction, the Shelton Diabetes Support Group meeting will not be held at the Hospital, but at the new PUD facility on John's Prairie Rd., Shelton.
