No-cost solutions to common heat loss problems
There are two common reasons your house is hard to heat. Either unwanted air is coming in and you have to reheat it. Or heat is escaping from where it shouldn’t be.
 
If your goal is to make your home more efficient and comfortable, you first have to start with air leaks. The three largest air leaks you’ll find in an average home are also the three most common. And they are places that most people don’t want to fix: dog doors, wood or gas fireplaces, and dryer dampers.

Officials will begin work to remove a dock that beached on a remote shore within the boundaries of both Olympic National Park and NOAA's Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary in December 2012. NOAA has contracted The Undersea Company of Port Townsend, Wash., to lead the removal. The contractor plans to complete removal efforts by the end of March, depending on weather and tidal conditions.
