Forest Service Seeks Public Comment

Botanists have discovered five new noxious weed infestations in designated Wilderness areas on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and are asking for public comment on treatment options until April 2. 
   

19th Conference for Shellfish Growers Mar 5-6

The 19th Conference for Shellfish Growers will be held on March 5 - 6, 2012 at Alderbrook Resort and Spa in Union.  First convened by Washington Sea Grant in 1991, the Conference for Shellfish Growers brings together representatives from the shellfish industry, tribes, government and academia. This year, the conference will focus on half-shell oysters, shellstock storage, weather monitoring, diarrhetic shellfish poisoning and emerging issues.

ONP Hosts Screening Of GREEN FIRE Mar 14

Olympic National Forest, in partnership with the Olympic Natural Resource Center, is pleased to host a screening of Green Fire!  The public is invited to attend.
 
Please join us for this documentary film about legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold and his environmental legacy.  Green Fire shares highlights from his career, explaining how he shaped conservation and the modern environmental movement.  It also illustrates how Leopold's vision of a community that cares about both people and land continues to inform and inspire people across the country and around the world, highlighting current projects that put his land ethic in action in a multitude of ways.
