Expected to Begin: July 2013
Estimated project completion: September 2013

Drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic controlled by a signal on US 101 in the Purdy Canyon vicinity throughout the duration of the project. Excavation work will completely close the highway for 25 nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays to Thursdays. WDFW announces tentative schedule for razor clam digs through December

Clam diggers who miss the razor clam dig that ends Thursday night (Oct. 18) at Twin Harbors will have plenty of other chances to hit the beach in the months ahead. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has announced a tentative schedule for razor clam openings through the end of the year, including one later this month.

Washington State Parks announces winter schedule

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission announced its 2012/2013 winter schedule, with more than 60 parks remaining open seven days a week.
Each year, the Commission publishes a winter schedule that establishes which parks will remain open, which will close and which will offer limited services, such as a reduced number of camping sites and restrooms. The schedule published by the Commission maintains services within the current operating budget and provides a geographic balance of visitor services during the winter months.

Forest Road Survival Guide

As the beautiful fall colors light up the forest, many outdoor enthusiasts put on their orange vests and head out to hunt, hike, or just enjoy the scenery on Department of Natural Resources (DNR) managed lands. Before you head out, make sure you know the rules of the road so you and others stay safe this weekend.
