The County Commissioners, at the recommendation of the Mason County Democrats, appointed Ginger Brooks as the County Clerk, replacing Pat Swartos as Mason County Clerk. Pat Swartos completed over 40 years of service in the County Clerk’s off, 28 of those years were served as the County Clerk, the 2nd longest term the Mason County Clerk.  Three candidates for County Clerk were nominated by the Mason County Democratic Party; Sharon Fogo, Kathy Gallagher, and Ginger Brooks.  The Commissioners review the candidate’s applications, resume’s and experience to make their selection.
