A Balanced Checkbook For The City Of Shelton

The 2013 budget includes $10.7 million in general expenses - the largest being the $2.4 million dollar Police Budget. City Administrator Dave O’Leary says the city plans to end the year with 1.5 million dollars.  O’Leary says the city is in fine shape financially, with challenges including the result of union bargaining with employee groups (which have not had a cost of living raise since 2009) and the loss of $110,000 in liquor taxes due to action by the State Legislature.
