Thurston County Auditor Chosen

Choosing from a field of three, Thurston County Commissioners today picked Gary Alexander to serve as Thurston County Auditor. The position was open because of the election last November of Kim Wyman to the post of Washington Secretary of State. Three persons were recommended by Thurston County Republicans as potential replacement for Wyman and all three were earlier interviewed by the commissioners.
Alexander says he will be working on a number of issues regarding the Auditor's Office in the coming year.  "The Auditor's Office has been planning in 4 to 5 year outlooks and I have some very important plans.  That includes moving to as much of a paperless office as we can.  And also we want to streamline our elections process so that we get as much of the elections results as possible on election night."
Alexander says he is looking forward to working with the entire Auditor's Office team.  "We've got some great leaders on all parts of the Auditor's staff; licensing, recording, elections and the financial aspects."
