Senior Center Search For New Location Continues
KMAS News received a press release announcing a potential new location for the center for the Mason County Senior Activities Association (MCSAA) & Center,
The Pavilion at Century Park, 190 W. Sentry Drive in Shelton. The MCSAA's previous efforts to purchase the PUD 3 building on Cota failed due to inability to get grant funding to support the purchase of the building.
Terri Shaw, MCSAA Executive Director and MCSAA President John Wyatt sent a letter announcing they had found another "suitable property" for relocation of their Senior Center, stating the advantages over the prior location. The Pavilion currently offers solutions to some of the major needs of the Senior Center - a deluxe commercial kitchen, the facility is move in ready, and there is 4.5 acres which allows for future growth.
The MCSAA Board has reviewed and voted to accept the concept of the Purchase of the Pavilion at their Feb. 5th meeting and will bring the matter before the membership immediately. A tour of the new facility is scheduled for 10 AM Monday Feb. 18, 2013, with the General Meeting the next day (Feb. 19, 2013). The meeting will include information on the Pavilion including the cost and the option plans for purchase, followed by a vote of the membership.
Active membership means the person has paid their 2013 MCSAA dues which were due by January 31, 2013.
